Terms of Use
The rules for using TreatHour to find, book and pay for services, buy gift vouchers and join walk-in queues.
Last updated
1. About these terms
TreatHour is run by Craza Technologies Limited, a company registered in Nigeria (RC 9932233), whose registered office is at 1, Antarex off Okoribi, Uwvie, Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria. "TreatHour", "we" and "us" mean Craza Technologies Limited. "You" means anyone who uses TreatHour.
These terms apply when you use the TreatHour website, the TreatHour app, or a business's own website that runs on TreatHour (for example yourbusiness.treathour.com, or the business's own web address), whether or not you have an account. By using TreatHour, creating an account, making a booking, buying a gift voucher or joining a walk-in queue, you agree to them.
These documents are part of these terms:
- Cancellations, refunds and charges (what happens to your money when plans change)
- Review guidelines
Our Privacy Policy and Cookie notice explain how we handle personal data. Businesses that list on TreatHour also agree to our Business Terms.
2. What TreatHour is (and isn't)
TreatHour is an online marketplace and booking system. It lets you discover businesses (salons, barbers, spas, nail studios and more), see their services and prices, book and pay, buy gift vouchers, and join walk-in queues. Businesses also use TreatHour to run their bookings and their own websites.
- The businesses provide the services, not TreatHour. Each business is independent. It sets its own prices, services, opening hours, deposit and cancellation policy, and it is responsible for the services it provides, its team, its premises, and having any licences it needs.
- When you book, your agreement for the service is with the business. TreatHour's part is running the booking, collecting the payment, sending your messages and handling refunds as these terms describe.
- Our team checks each business before its profile goes live, and we act on complaints. But we can't inspect every business or guarantee the quality of a service, so please use your own judgement too (reviews from real customers help).
3. Your account
- You must be 18 or over to create an account. Someone under 18 can only use a service if a parent or guardian books it for them and agrees to these terms on their behalf.
- Give your real name and contact details, and keep them up to date. One account per person.
- Keep your password secret. You're responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else has used it, change your password, use Sign out of all devices in Account settings, and tell us.
- We email you a link to verify your email address. You can also verify your phone number with a code we text you, if that number has paid bookings or gift vouchers on TreatHour. Once your email or phone is verified, bookings, walk-in queue tickets and reviews you made with it without an account join your account, and so do gift vouchers you bought as a guest with that email.
- You can delete your account in the app or on the website once nothing is outstanding: no upcoming bookings, no place in a walk-in queue and, for a business owner, nothing still to settle at the business (bookings, queue, payouts, gift vouchers). It is deleted 14days later; until then you can sign in and choose Keep my account. Your reviews stay (as a "Former customer"), gift vouchers stay valid, and money records are kept without your name. How to delete your account explains what is deleted, what we must keep, and when.
4. Booking without an account
You don't need an account to book, buy a gift voucher or join a queue. For a gift voucher you give your name and email. To book or join a queue as a guest you give your name and a Nigerian mobile number (and an email address if you'd like updates by email), and choose whether we send your updates by text message or email.
Your booking has a private link that lets anyone who has it see, pay for or cancel the booking. Keep it to yourself. If you shared it by mistake, use Send me a new link on the booking page. Lost it? Use Find my booking.
5. Booking and paying
Paying online
Every booking is paid online when you book, through Paystack, a licensed Nigerian payment company. Your booking is only secured once the payment goes through. We hold your chosen time for 15 minutes while you pay.
TreatHour collects payment for the business
The business appoints TreatHour as its limited agent to collect payments for its services. So when you pay TreatHour the business's price (or a deposit), it counts as paying the business: the business can't ask you to pay that amount again. We pass the money on to the business after the appointment, or refund it to you under the cancellation rules.
TreatHour's service charge
On top of the business's price you pay TreatHour's own service charge: currently 10% of the business's price (after any promotion), not counting any part you pay with a gift voucher (for example ₦10,000 + ₦1,000 = ₦11,000). All of it is paid when you book, even if you pay a deposit now and the rest at the venue. It is our fee for the booking and the payment, and it covers the card fees. We always show it, and the total, before you pay.
The service charge isn't refunded when a booking is cancelled (by you or the business), declined, not accepted in time, or missed. It is refunded only when the payment itself was a mistake, such as a double payment. See Cancellations, refunds and charges.
Card details
Card and bank payments are processed by Paystack. We never see or store your full card number, PIN or OTP. Paystack tells us the card type, its last 4 digits and the bank, which we show on your receipts.
After you pay
- Some businesses confirm bookings straight away. Others accept each request themselves. If they don't answer in time, the request is declined automatically and you get back everything you paid towards the price (not the service charge).
- If the business takes a deposit, you pay the rest (the balance) later, online with Pay balance, or at the venue. A balance paid at the venue is paid to the business directly, not through TreatHour.
- Every payment and refund has a PDF receipt. Prices are in Nigerian naira (₦).
6. Cancellations, no-shows and refunds
Each business sets its own cancellation policy: a free-cancellation time, a late-cancellation charge and a no-show charge. You see it before you pay, and your booking keeps it even if the business changes its policy later. Charges go to the business and are never more than you paid towards the price.
If the business cancels or declines, you get back everything you paid towards the price. The full rules, with examples in naira, are in Cancellations, refunds and charges, which is part of these terms.
Please turn up on time. If you can't make it, cancel as early as you can, so the business can offer your time to someone else.
7. Gift vouchers
- TreatHour gift vouchers are sold by TreatHour. You choose a value from ₦1,000 to ₦1,000,000 and pay it plus TreatHour's service charge (non-refundable). We send the voucher to the recipient by text or email as soon as the payment goes through.
- A voucher is valid for 12 months (365 days) from the day it was paid for. It can't be used after that, and any value left on it is lost. When the business cancels or declines a booking and part of the refund goes back to a voucher, the voucher stays usable for at least 90 days from the refund; when you cancel, it keeps its original expiry date (see Cancellations, refunds and charges).
- It can be spent on bookings made on TreatHour (the website or the app) while signed in, in one go or over several bookings. A voucher bought from a particular business's page can only be used with that business. Vouchers can't be used on businesses' own websites or for the walk-in queue for now.
- A voucher can't be exchanged for cash or refunded, except when the payment itself was a mistake (for example you were charged twice): our team is alerted and refunds it, and you can always tell us.
- A voucher works like cash: anyone with the code can use it. Keep it safe. We may cancel a voucher that was bought with stolen payment details or obtained by fraud.
8. The walk-in queue
Some shops let walk-in customers join a queue on TreatHour. To join, you pay TreatHour's service charge (10% of the service's price, at least ₦100; nothing for a free service). You pay the shop for the service at the end. Usually you need the code shown in the shop to join, and you can have one place in a shop's queue at a time.
If the shop's final price is higher than the price when you joined (for example, you added a service), TreatHour's service charge also applies to the difference: you pay it with the final payment if you pay online. The shop calls people in order. If you're called and don't come within the time the shop sets (usually 5 minutes), or the shop skips you, you're moved back a few places; the third time, you're taken out of the queue. The queue service charge isn't refunded if you leave, are skipped or removed, don't come when called, or the queue closes before your turn (see Cancellations, refunds and charges).
9. Reviews
You can review a business after a completed booking you made (or a queue visit you joined yourself). Reviews must be honest and about your own experience, and must follow our Review guidelines. We may hide reviews that break them.
Your review stays yours, but you allow us to show it (with your name as shown in the guidelines, your rating and the date) on TreatHour, in the app and on the business's own website, and to use it in the business's rating.
10. Using TreatHour fairly
Please don't:
- make bookings, join queues or buy vouchers you don't intend to honour, or pretend to be someone else;
- use someone else's card, account or voucher without permission, or try to get refunds or vouchers you're not entitled to;
- harass, threaten or abuse businesses, their teams, other customers or our team;
- post fake, paid-for or abusive reviews, or upload anything you don't have the right to share, or that is illegal or offensive;
- copy or scrape TreatHour, send automated requests, or try to get around our limits or security, or into accounts that aren't yours;
- use TreatHour to break the law or to send spam.
We put limits on how often some things can be done (for example bookings and messages from the same number in an hour) to keep TreatHour safe for everyone.
11. Things you upload
Photos and words you add to TreatHour (a profile photo, a review, a gift message) stay yours. You allow us to store and show them to run TreatHour, for as long as they're on TreatHour. Photos are uploaded to our image service, and their location and camera details are removed. Only upload things you have the right to share.
12. Suspending or closing accounts
We may suspend or close an account, cancel a booking or voucher, or block access, if we reasonably believe someone has broken these terms, acted fraudulently, or put other people at risk, or if the law requires it. Where we can, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to explain. Any refund follows the cancellation rules, unless the money came from fraud.
13. Our responsibility to you
We provide TreatHour with reasonable care and skill. We're responsible for our own part: running bookings, collecting payments, and sending refunds as these terms say. The business is responsible for the service it provides.
- We aren't responsible for a business's services, its premises or what its team does, or for losses we couldn't reasonably have foreseen.
- TreatHour may sometimes be unavailable (for example for maintenance or because of a problem with a provider we rely on). We work to keep it running but can't promise it will never stop.
- If we are responsible for a loss connected to a booking, voucher or queue ticket, the most we'll pay is the amount you paid through TreatHour for it.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit, and nothing takes away your rights as a consumer under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 or other Nigerian law.
14. Changes to TreatHour and to these terms
We keep improving TreatHour, so features may change. We may also update these terms when our service or the law changes. If a change matters to you, we'll tell you before it applies: we email account holders and show a notice in your account on the website. If you book or buy while a change is announced but not yet in force, the version in force at that moment applies. Bookings you've already made keep the price and cancellation policy they were made with. If you don't agree with a change, you can stop using TreatHour and delete your account.
15. Complaints and the law
If something goes wrong with a service, please talk to the business first. If you can't sort it out, or the problem is with TreatHour, contact us with your booking reference. We usually reply within 1 working day.
If you're not happy with how we handled your complaint, you can contact the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC). For anything about personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the Nigerian courts can deal with any dispute about them. We'll always try to settle a disagreement with you directly first.
